my hands remember cs better than they play it

I played Counter-Strike when buying armor without a helmet felt like a financial strategy. Now I open CS2 after work and need three warmup maps before my wrist admits we are gaming. The knowledge is still there. I know the common angle. I know the flash is coming. I know I should not re-peek. Then a 19 year old swings the corner and I am dead while my brain is still preparing a very wise response. What annoys me is everybody saying age is just an excuse. Of course it is partly an excuse. I also sleep badly and use a mousepad with a coffee stain shaped like Mirage. But reaction time is not even the whole thing. Younger players grind the same maps every night. I play twice a week, forget the new smoke lineup, and spend one match adjusting sensitivity because it felt weird for ten seconds. Smurfs in low ranks do not teach me anything either. Getting deleted by a fresh account with perfect counter-strafing is not a lesson. The lesson is that he should be in another lobby. I can still win ugly. Hold the boring angle, throw the useful flash, call the rotate early, let the cracked kid chase clips. Old player CS is basically setting traps for people with better hands. Then I whiff the easiest shot of the night and blame my chair. Some traditions survive.
