some ps2 games should stay in my memory

I replayed a game I loved as a kid and spent ten minutes fighting the camera harder than the enemies. Right stick did something weird, lock-on selected a crate, and every doorway grabbed my character. In my memory it was huge and mysterious. In reality the first area was three brown hallways and a loading screen. Still had cool music. Still had more personality than plenty of cleaner games. But nostalgia had clearly installed a private remaster in my head. I turned it off after an hour. Not everything needs to survive contact with my adult hands.
