starcraft is why rts games scare people

StarCraft asks you to build workers, scout, expand, watch the minimap, remember upgrades and somehow control an army while a guy named xXToastX kills you before your plan begins. That is also why RTS games rule. The match is not waiting for you. Your bad build order becomes visible on the map and then walks into your base. People say the genre needs to be simplified. Maybe. But if every unit auto-casts, every worker behaves, and every mistake gets smoothed out, what am I even learning? I am terrible at StarCraft. Strongly defending the thing that humiliates me is part of the experience.
