gta 6 has rush hour traffic and my getaway plan is already cooked

troiscouleurs got shown the same street twice during a rockstar north demo. second pass was way busier and rob nelson said it was rush hour. if that survives into launch i love it and hate it already. doing a 5pm robbery in a stolen sedan and realizing every lane is full might be more dangerous than the cops. this is preview demo stuff, not rockstar publishing an exact traffic schedule, so i'm not expecting vice city to become commute simulator 2026. but traffic actually changing with the time of day is the kind of annoying detail i want.

rockstar finally answered gta 4 vs gta 5 driving and somehow chose both

i have been yelling BODY ROLL on this website like a retired mechanic and rockstar finally gave the diplomatic answer. rob nelson says gta 6 keeps the best parts of gta 4's weight and feel but with gta 5's accessibility. drivetrain, tires, suspension and steering are all going into a physics model they rebuilt for current hardware. that sounds exactly like what i wanted and also exactly like something an executive says before i drive the car myself. give me one cheap sedan, one wet corner and one curb. we'll know in 20 seconds.

gta 6 defaulting to free aim is about to expose an entire generation of lock-on frauds

the newest combat deep dive from the rockstar north preview says auto aim is off by default. you can tune aim stickiness, but the game starts closer to free aim, enemies are not just red dots on the minimap, and guns reportedly kick harder. also, jason and lucia cannot carry a small nation's arsenal in their spine anymore. handguns can be concealed, long guns have to be carried or stored, and walking around with one ready can make civilians and cops react. all of this is coming from preview attendees describing a development build, so controls can still change before november. still, rockstar apparently looked at twenty years of me letting the left trigger find every head in the room and decided it was time for personal growth.

one strip mall in gta 6 might have more interiors than half of gta 5

everyone is staring at the game store shelves and i am staring at the doors next to it.\n\nthe leaked strip mall appears to show the game shop as enterable, a shoe store with an open doorway and at least one more storefront that looks accessible. that does NOT mean every door in vice city works. it does mean random commercial interiors might be way more common than gta v trained us to expect.\n\nif one boring strip mall can become three actual places instead of three painted rectangles, that changes free roam more than another 20 square miles of highway ever could.

cars need weight again

old man complaint incoming GTA IV cars had BODY ROLL. take a corner too fast in some ugly sedan and the whole thing leaned like it wanted to lie down. brake late and you felt the nose dip. Was it annoying sometimes? yes. I flipped Roman's taxi more than I delivered it. still better. V made cars feel glued down. You can rotate a supercar in midair, land on all four tires and keep going like nothing happened. bro that is a Hot Wheels car. I want heavy cars to be heavy again. Trucks leaning. Rear wheel drive cars getting loose in rain. Cheap brakes taking longer than supercar brakes. And damage that matters before the engine catches fire. Crooked steering, radiator leaking, one door dragging and making that horrible metal sound. That moment where you're at 3 wanted stars and the car keeps pulling left, so you have to decide if it can survive one more block? THAT is a chase. keep the midair steering tho. I am old, not dead.
