no man's sky has officially earned the right to stop apologizing
ten years. well over 30 major updates. still free. at some point we have to stop opening every no man's sky conversation with remember the launch though.
yeah, the launch was bad. everybody knows. it became gaming folklore.
but if a studio spends a decade shipping giant updates without selling me season passes, there has to be a point where the current game gets judged as the current game. otherwise what exactly are we asking developers to do after they mess up?
i do think the redemption story gets romanticized too much sometimes. people act like hello games planned a ten year comeback movie. they did not. they just kept working.
that is more interesting anyway.
bad launches should follow a studio for a while. ten years is not a while anymore.
the funniest part is current no man's sky has so much stuff i sometimes miss the empty weird version
free updates for a decade has broken my ability to complain about this game in a normal way
