one of the better police changes from the rockstar north previews is tiny: during a chase, cops apparently do not stay marked on the minimap. rob nelson says you cannot just steer around their little vision cones anymore. if you need help, using Focus can reveal nearby cops, and TGG says it can even show them through walls. this is preview-build information, not a final hud manual, so the exact tuning can still change before november. i give myself six minutes before i use Focus, spot three cops behind a building and immediately reverse into the one i was actually looking at.

two separate preview groups ran into npc robberies that apparently were not scripted for the demo. in mikeshowsha's session, two masked women tried to rob a jewelry store, somehow locked themselves inside and set off the alarm. rockstar staff reportedly said that exact sequence had not happened in months of testing. kinda funny got an even better one: jason walked into a convenience store ready to rob it and another npc beat him to it. the cashier's reaction was basically another one? important: these are creator accounts from controlled previews, not a rockstar feature list, and nobody has shown how often random crimes repeat. but this is the open world stuff i want. not 900 icons. let leonida start problems without me.

this might be my favorite small combat detail so far. rob nelson says gta 6 has suppressive fire where you deliberately shoot near cops or civilians instead of directly at them. the point is to scare or confuse them long enough to get out, not win every robbery by stacking bodies at the door. he also framed it as part of jason and lucia trying to escape the law, and said killing is still an option but it can affect your criminal profile. there are apparently situations you can get through without killing anyone. important before pacifist youtube begins: nobody confirmed a full no-kill playthrough. this is an escape tool, not gta suddenly becoming dishonored. still, intentionally missing being an actual mechanic is extremely gta. years of bad aim finally have lore.

If I rob a store with no mask and leave in a red muscle car, fine, every cop can look for the red car. That makes sense. But if I dump it in a parking garage, change clothes, steal some boring gray SUV and get out before the helicopter sees me, the wanted stars should actually cool off. No cop spawning in the alley I picked at random. I don't need police simulator stuff. Just stop making the tunnel under the freeway the answer to every crime.
