gta 6 is bringing back red dead's talk-to-everyone system and making it weirder

rob nelson says the npc interaction system from red dead is returning and evolved for gta 6. not just random pedestrians screaming when you bump them. the idea is that jason and lucia can interact with people and the world reacts more specifically to what you are doing. that is way more interesting to me than another 400 enterable bathrooms. rdr2 made walking past one guy feel like a tiny scene because you could greet him, annoy him, escalate it, leave, come back and somehow create a completely unnecessary problem. put that system in modern florida with phones, cops, clubs and gta players and we are going to manufacture side stories by accident.

stop saying gta 6 has an 80 hour story

rob nelson said his recent gta 6 playthrough took about 80 hours. that does NOT mean the main story is confirmed to be 80 hours. he specifically said that run included optional goals with narrative ramifications. which honestly sounds more interesting anyway. i would rather have a 50 hour story plus 30 hours of side stuff that actually changes relationships or missions than 80 hours of mandatory driving conversations because the box needs a big number. please stop turning one developer playthrough into a stopwatch spec.

we voted for lucia spoilers and then he actually posted them

the lucia prologue vote was funny when it was a threat. then cyberleek actually dropped 4 minutes and 38 seconds of early lucia story footage and suddenly the whole thing stopped feeling like feature hunting. this is the first time this leak run has shown a real chunk centered on lucia instead of jason doing crimes in parking lots. i am officially back on the boring leaks only plan. show me tire pressure. show me vending machine physics. keep the plot away from me.

cyberleek dropped 12 and 13 back to back because the clock is running out

nine1nine drops. basically minutes later beach drops.\n\nrockstar has the official extended look scheduled for august 27 at 3 pm et and the community theory is obvious: dump everything interesting before polished official gameplay makes 480p dev footage way less special.\n\nthere is zero proof that is actually why cyberleek is accelerating. could just be chaos.\n\nbut the timing is hilarious. this whole leak campaign suddenly feels like somebody trying to finish the battle pass before the season ends.

cyberleek is now dangling a lucia prologue and this is where i mute everything

the nudist town clip ends with a message saying cyberleek has been avoiding story spoilers and asking whether people want a lucia-led prologue next. apparently even that needs a poll plus the weird irl leek-costume stunt.\n\nmechanics leaks were one thing. a literal prologue is where the spoiler firewall gets deleted. also: saying you can show a prologue still does NOT prove you have the complete final campaign.\n\ni survived months of trailer analysis just to get spoiled by a guy dressed as a vegetable outside take-two. incredible timeline.

i want brian heder to become somebody i regret trusting

brian letting jason live at one of his places in exchange for local shakedowns already sounds like the kind of favor that gets expensive later. i don't need the obvious old smuggler was evil all along twist. honestly i'd rather like him for a while. let him be funny, useful, maybe even weirdly decent, then make one job remind me whose property jason is sleeping in. if he's just the old guy who gives boat missions, wasted opportunity.

if lucia's prison time is a cutscene i'm gonna feel robbed

rockstar already told us lucia got out of leonida penitentiary. if that whole part of her life is one cutscene and then we're driving around vice city five minutes later, i'll be a little annoyed. a short prison prologue would be perfect. let me meet her before jason, see how she handles people, maybe understand why getting out changed the way she plans things. i do not need orange jumpsuit gta for six hours. just enough that the prison history feels like something that happened to her, not marketing wallpaper.

please show zero gta online on august 27

i mean it. zero. not even a logo at the end. we have waited this long for gta 6 and i want the next big look to be about the campaign i am buying in november. lucia. jason. vice city. missions. driving. interiors. weird side stuff. all of it. there will be years to talk about gta online. let the story have one marketing cycle where it gets the whole screen. and before somebody says online is what keeps gta alive: yes. correct. i played it too. that is exactly why rockstar does not need to sell me on it yet. show me lucia and jason being actual characters. online can have its own day later.

rockstar refusing to explain gta online is the best marketing decision

Rockstar is selling GTA 6 as a single-player story about Jason and Lucia. There is still no detailed public pitch for whatever comes after the current GTA Online. Good. Keep it that way until the campaign has room to exist. The second Rockstar shows a property menu, premium currency or a giant multiplayer roadmap, every discussion about the story turns into a debate about monetization. Let people buy the game because they want Leonida, Vice City and the characters. Online will obviously matter enormously. Silence does not mean it is unimportant. It means the campaign gets to be the main product for a few more months instead of the tutorial attached to a ten-year store. My controversial version: do not reveal the new online mode until after launch. Let the first week belong to the story.

lucia and jason should not be a player choice romance

If the relationship is central to the story, Rockstar should write the relationship instead of asking me to assemble it from dialogue options. Let them love each other, resent each other, use each other or change over time. Whatever the story is, commit to it. A choice menu would make every scene account for several emotional versions and probably weaken all of them. I do not want a heart meter. I do not want the ending determined by whether I selected the nice response at a diner. I want two specific people making choices I may disagree with. That is what makes a character different from an avatar.

gta online should launch six months later

Launching GTA Online beside the campaign would turn the first week into a race to skip the story. Every guide channel would immediately post the fastest money method. Every friend group would pressure the slowest player to hurry up. The whole conversation would move from Lucia and Jason to which starter business has the best payout. Delay Online. Let the campaign own the launch. Let people discover the map without a battle pass icon hovering over every neighborhood. Six months is probably too long for the business side. Good. The business side has already had a decade.

i only care if lucia and jason feel real

I know this is unpopular to say about GTA, but I do not care what the new Online economy looks like. Not even a little. I want Lucia and Jason to have conversations that change after a bad job. Let them be angry in the car, quiet at the safehouse, and weirdly normal while buying supplies. Small stuff. Switching protagonists in GTA V was technically cool, but sometimes it felt like changing TV channels. I liked all three guys and still never fully believed they needed each other. For this one I want the relationship to be the game, not decoration between robberies. If I play recklessly as Jason for hours, maybe Lucia stops trusting his plan. If Lucia keeps the cash, let that sit between them. No romance meter. No plus five loyalty popup. Please no dialogue wheel where one answer has a heart icon. Just writing, performance, and enough quiet time for them to exist when no chaos is happening. Red Dead 2 was good at letting camp conversations do work that a giant cutscene did not need to do. People keep talking about playing this for ten years. I want one finished story I can replay twice and then put down. Credits, save file, done. If the campaign gets shortened so I can buy a nightclub and repeat the same multiplayer setup with strangers, I am going to become the most annoying person alive.
